Why did you choose to work with Carbide?
We chose to work with Carbide primarily to achieve SOC 2 Type 2 compliance. Our goal was to ensure we are a security-focused organization that can meet the requirements of modern enterprises. Carbide’s intuitive SaaS software, domain expertise, and the high success rate of their clients were significant factors in our decision. Additionally, their team’s security credentials and the fact that they are a Canadian company, like us, provided further assurance and support.
What is your use case for Carbide?
Our use case for Carbide is to achieve SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 compliance. This is essential for us to maintain our security posture and meet the compliance requirements of our clients. Carbide’s approach of dividing tasks between their team and ours, with some tasks being fully managed by them, others by us, and some being a hybrid effort, has been very beneficial in this process.
How has your organization benefited from working with Carbide?
Working with Carbide has significantly streamlined our process of achieving and maintaining SOC 2 compliance. The Carbide model has helped us balance the time commitment required from our team and ensure that we meet our compliance timelines efficiently. The central source of truth provided by their platform allows us to manage documentation and policy updates effectively, ensuring continuous compliance and security awareness training as our headcount grows.
What feature do you like the most or use the most?
The features we use the most are the Evidence Manager and the policy export function. The Evidence Manager is crucial during the accreditation process for gathering and managing evidence required for SOC 2 compliance. Post-certification, the ability to export specific modules and maintain a central source of truth for our policies is invaluable. This functionality is particularly helpful for responding to security questionnaires and ensuring our documentation is always up-to-date.
What would you tell other organizations who are looking to solve their security challenges?
For organizations considering Carbide, it’s crucial to look for a company with a proven track record and high success rates in achieving compliance. Carbide’s experience, low attrition rates, and high completion rates make them a reliable partner in navigating security and compliance challenges. Engaging with Carbide ensures that you have the support needed to successfully meet your security objectives.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Our experience with CSM Jay and Security Advisor Ryan has been very positive. Their support and expertise have been instrumental in our compliance journey. They have been responsive and helpful in addressing our concerns and ensuring we stay on track with our security and compliance goals.
