Canada’s recent decision to join the U.S. and European Union in prohibiting TikTok on government-issued devices has raised many questions.

From why TikTok is being singled out apart from the many other popular social media apps to why government phones would even use TikTok, one thing has become clear: When it comes to our activities online, too many of us are unaware of our current data privacy posture.
